Attorneys and deputies appointed by the Court of Protection to manage the affairs of someone who lacks the capacity to make their own decisions can make financial gifts on their behalf.
A gift can include:
- making an interest free loan
- creating a trust
- selling a property for less than its value
However, there are strict rules on gift-making.
