Litigation Executive, Abuse
ExpertiseSteve joined Hudgell Solicitors in 2014 having already worked a number of years at another law firm. He has dealt with several types of claims during his career, including claims involving historic abuse, personal injury, clinical negligence, civil liberties and claims through both the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) and the Lambeth Children’s Homes Redress Scheme, giving him a wide breadth of experience to be able to assist his clients.
Many of my clients have been through traumatic events in their past and it can take a lot of strength and courage for them to proceed with the legal claims process. It is therefore of paramount importance to me that I am able to deal with each client and their needs on an individual basis, and tailor their claims process to suit them. I always seek to provide my clients with clear and helpful advice, in a friendly and approachable manner. It is important for us to remember that the legal process which we are used to and deal with day to day is new to clients and something they can find daunting, having already gone through difficult times.
I am particularly proud of the work I do in helping survivors of historic abuse obtain compensation and I hope that I am able to assist them in gaining some of the justice that they so rightly deserve. Being involved in representing people who have been seeking damages through the Lambeth Children’s Homes Redress Scheme is one such example.
