Career Highlights
I acted for a client who suffered a horrendous crushing injury to his leg whilst at work resulting in a below-knee amputation. Liability for the accident was disputed and the claim was complex in nature. My client was left with significant concerns about his general health and mobility as well as his future finances. I was able to negotiate of settlement in the region of £350,000 in addition to arranging widescale adaptations to his home to include moving his bedroom and bathroom downstairs and ensuring that all parts of his home remained as accessible as possible.
I also represented a client who suffered brain and spinal injuries after falling from a dangerously built wall. My client sued the local council for negligence and had concerns over his ability to return to full-time work. The claim was successful and settled at £180,000, providing my client with crucial security and reassurances for the future.
Recently I have acted for a number of “secondary psychiatric victims” who, although they were not directly involved in an accident, as relatives who arrived at the scene soon afterwards they suffered serious psychological injuries as a result of what they saw. These have been extremely challenging, but ultimately rewarding cases.
