Associate, Personal Injury
Sarah qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and joined Hudgell Solicitors in 2014. She has a wide-ranging personal injury practice including public liability, road traffic accidents, accidents at work and serious injury claims. She places a focus on ensuring the very best rehabilitation support is provided from an early stage in serious injury cases. This often involves ensuring the appointment of dedicated Case Managers to ensure her clients receive all the help and support they need, with programmes of rehabilitation put in place to assist them in their daily lives. This can be though physical, psychological and financial support where interim payments can be obtained. Sarah always works to obtain the best therapeutic and rehabilitative needs for clients.
I always enjoy a challenge and there is no greater satisfaction than achieving compensation for a client on a case that wouldn’t be automatically appealing to other solicitors. I pride myself on tenacity and digging a little bit deeper than is usually required to gain the best possible outcome for my clients.
I settled a very unusual case, securing a six-figure damages compensation award for a client who was attacked by a cow when out walking her dog on a public pathway. They had walked through a field which had cows and calves in it. One of the cows attacked her dog before attacking her and her partner. Liability was denied, so we took it to almost as far as the trial date when the defendant finally admitted liability. Cases involving animals attacking are particularly difficult to prove. We had to secure reports from various medical experts to prove the extent of her injuries, as she suffered severe chest trauma. This resulted in the lady being unable to work as she needed surgery and was unable to hold down a job.
