Expertise and key strengths
I represent clients who have suffered as a result of medical negligence, with a particular interest is in claims relating to misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis of cancer. I have been instructed in a number of claims involving delayed diagnosis of cancer with very sadly, serious consequences for my clients.
I handle a breadth of clinical negligence and dental negligence cases, with a mixed case load of both litigated and non-litigated claims.
I also handle claims for people who have suffered a substandard of care and treatment in hospital in relation to orthopedic injuries, specifically hip and lower limb fractures. I also have experience in claims for negligent treatment of patients in care homes and in elderly care generally.
My clients appreciate my ability to explain details of the law and their cases in amenable and understandable language and my uncompromised dedication and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for them.
I have had extensive experience of county court advocacy and represent my own clients and clients of the firm in hearings across county courts and the Royal Courts of Justice in hearings such as infant approval hearings, Costs and Case Management Conferences and various application hearings.
I completed the Bar Professionals Training Course in 2012 and became a freelance County Court Advocate in February 2014.
I then moved from freelance work to join Hudgell Solicitors in April 2015 as a paralegal where I initially had a case load of personal injury cases before joining the clinical negligence team in March 2016.
During this time I have completed my Legal Practice Course and will be starting my training contract with the firm as a Trainee Solicitor in February 2017.
I graduated in History at Nottingham Trent University (BA (Hons). Nottingham Law School – Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL). BPP Law School, London –Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) and Legal Practice Course (LPC).
Proudest professional achievement
Having inherited a multi-track claim early on in my career, I handled the case throughout its litigation in the County Court and onto and through appeal also, achieving a great outcome for the client and the firm.
I am extremely proud of the capability and skill I demonstrated in this case and the fantastic outcome it achieved for our client.
Being given the opportunity and trust to run a claim through not only the court process but also the appeals process early on in my career provided me with knowledge and experience that will benefit me and my clients for years to come.
Just wanted to thank you for your wonderful work with this case and how supportive you have been throughout. People only tend to give feedback when something goes wrong but I just wanted to let you know I am very grateful for your hard work and dedication.
