I am passionate about representing clients and exceeding their expectations. Often, clients will have very specific goals about what they wish to achieve through taking legal action, and I make it a priority to work collaboratively with them, so their cases are led in the way they wish, within the remit of the legal process.
Get to Know Maria
Maria is a highly experienced clinical negligence specialist and represents clients across the UK, typically in complex catastrophic cases. She is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence panel and a ranked lawyer in both the 2023 Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners guides.
Maria Repanos joined Hudgell Solicitors as Head of Clinical Negligence in Manchester in 2023 and during her legal career, which has spanned almost two-decades, she has led cases relating to birth injuries, spinal injuries, amputations, orthopaedic injuries, surgical negligence and delays in diagnosis of cancer, securing many high-value catastrophic settlements.
Maria has also represented many clients at inquest in particular those relating to suicide. She also has an interest in best interest cases relating to disputes in respect of what type of treatment is in the best interests of a patient who lacks capacity to make that decision themselves.
Previously Maria has worked for other notable law firms such as Irwin Mitchell Solicitors and joined Hudgells from Slater & Gordon, where she ran a team of lawyers in Manchester.
I’ve secured significant settlements for a number of clients with cerebral palsy, where allegations of negligence were made in relation to the management of their births and deliveries.
I work very closely with my clients and their families in order to achieve high damages awards, to ensure they benefit from appropriate rehabilitation and care packages as well as purchasing suitable homes, which meet their needs. Working collaboratively my clients helps them to become as independent as possible, subject to the nature and extent of their injuries.
I have also acted for families in connection with deaths of loved ones following negligent medical treatment. In these cases I have represented them at inquest where appropriate, and subsequently secured substantial awards of damages for them, which has afforded them financial security in very difficult circumstances.
