Leonie joined Hudgell Solicitors as a New Claims Advisor in 2020 after graduating in law.
She was promoted to the role of Paralegal in 2021. As a member of our clinical negligence team, Leonie liaises with medical experts and barristers to ensure a client’s case is fully prepared.
Leonie assists clients who have sustained life-changing injuries and supports senior lawyers with complex cases involving delayed cancer diagnosis, GP negligence and hospital errors.
Career Highlights
I aim to ensure the legal process is as stress-free as possible for my clients.
I attend mediation with senior solicitors, a process where parties meet with a selected impartial person to assist them with negotiations, to try and settle a dispute.
Most recently, I assisted with a successful case where our client underwent an above-knee amputation due to delays in treatment. The NHS Trust involved admitted it was at fault, resulting in a high-value settlement for our client of more than £1m.

I volunteer for the cancer charity Her Breast Friends based in Hull and I’ve also raised money for The House of Light, which supports children.
