Get to Know Jeremy
Jeremy specialises in all aspects of legal costs work arising from a wide range of litigation including civil liberties, clinical negligence, disease claims, personal injury, commercial disputes, and solicitor own/client costs challenges.
As National Head of Costs at Hudgell Solicitors, Jeremy has overall responsibility for managing and directing the Costs Team based in Hull and Manchester, providing clear leadership and goal setting as well as offering strategic advice to the wider firm.
Jeremy began to specialise in costs litigation and funding in 2007 and joined Hudgells in 2018 after several years with another well-known law firm. He has extensive advocacy experience having worked on a number of cases that have proceeded to the Court of Appeal and is experienced in multi-jurisdictional litigation.
He is well versed in the technical side of costs law and often provides advice relating to the drafting of retainers as well as creative funding and strategy. Part of Jeremy’s role with the firm also includes offering strategic advice in relation to acquisitions.
