I understand that when a client has been affected by a serious injury negotiating a significant early interim payment can be essential in helping them rebuild their lives.

Get to Know Gareth

As a paralegal Gareth supports clients and their families who have experienced serious and catastrophic injuries, including polytrauma and brain and spinal injuries.

Many of the cases Gareth assists on, settle for six and seven-figure amounts and, due to the nature of the injuries, usually necessitate negotiating an early extensive rehabilitation package, working through a multi-disciplinary approach of multiple rehabilitation providers and medical experts.

Gareth joined Hudgell Solicitors in 2021 and is currently seconded to our Civil Liberties team where he support clients affected by the Manchester Arena terror attack.

Career Highlights

Recently I assisted and supported two clients who experienced childhood brain injuries and both their compensation settlements exceeded a-million-pounds.

“Understanding the distinct nuances and presentation of their subtle brain injuries and the effect on their lives were essential for reaching settlement, as was the instruction of appropriate Neuropsychological and Neuropsychiatric experts.

“Previously I assisted on another client case involving an amputation where a settlement of £1.45m was achieved alongside lifetime payments for private rehabilitation and prosthetics. This was achieved within 12 months from being instructed and where the defendant insurer initially denied liability.

Giving More

Hudgells encourages its team to volunteer in work hours as part of its commitment to local communities and I’ve helped out at a local foodbank run by a former client who suffered a serious injury.
