Solicitor, Clinical Negligence
Emma has worked in the legal sector since 2014 initially in personal injury. She has been working with clinical negligence since October 2015 initially starting as a paralegal at another firm in the area. In June 2018, Emma began her training contract undertaking seats in clinical negligence, industrial disease and wills and probate. She then joined Hudgell Solicitors in November 2020 and qualified as a solicitor in December 2020.
Emma previously assisted the senior solicitors on a variety of matters including delays in diagnosis, fatal accidents, orthopaedic claims and claims against GPs. This allowed her to gain a wide variety of knowledge before progressing onto managing her own cases. Emma continues to assist the senior solicitors alongside her own cases in order to continue developing her knowledge.
My favourite thing about my job is being able to help clients obtain answers about why their treatment went wrong and helping them move forward with their lives. A lot of clients are suffering from emotional stress due to their injuries so it is important that they feel listened to and know that they are in good hands.
I have assisted on a variety of case including attending at 4 day Jury inquest with Counsel, helping the family to gain answers about what happened to their loved one.
