When a client becomes involved in an inquiry or an inquest it’s usually a very unfamiliar experience. My aim is to guide them through the process with regular and clear advice along the way.

Career Highlights

During my time with the Civil Liberties Department, I have had the privilege to meet many inspirational clients.

I was part of the team that represented the families of the victims of the serial killer Stephen Port during the inquests into their deaths which resulted in a Prevention of Future Deaths report, raising official concern about the failings of Metropolitan Police’s investigations.

Currently, I help represent former subpostmasters at the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry. The Post Office scandal is regarded as one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in the UK’s legal system and I’m proud to support such inspirational individuals still fighting for answers and full and fair compensation.

The most rewarding day of my career came in 2021 when the Court of Appeal quashed the convictions of 39 former Post Office employees. It was inspiring being part of the team that helped vindicate so many.

Giving More

Hudgells helped raise £1m for Martin Hibbert’s Martin’s Mountain appeal for the Spinal Injuries Association.

Martin successfully made it to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and in the run-up, my colleagues took part in a wide range of fundraising events. I undertook a sponsored challenge to conquer Manchester’s hottest chicken wings! Amazingly, it was covered by ITV News.
