Litigation Executive, Travel
Anthony has been with Hudgell Solicitors since 2015 and is a Travel Litigation specialist, representing both individual and corporate clients in the UK and internationally.
During his career he has represented both Claimants and Defendants as well as working in-house for a large Tour Operator. Due to his experience he has extensive knowledge of the legal processes around cases involving injuries sustained abroad and foreign road accidents.
Anthony also has detailed working knowledge of the Package Travel Regulations along with the Montreal and Athens Conventions, expertise which enables him to act for Claimants where there has been an accident or illness abroad, on a plane or on a boat.
I feel my key strength is my ability to quickly assess often complex situations where foreign Laws and Regulations have to be considered in order to progress a case. When people come to me having suffered a serious injury or illness abroad, they don’t know where to start in terms of seeking damages for what happened to them. It can be very daunting thinking about potentially having to deal with foreign lawyers or investigations, but that is area in which I can put them at ease and take that hassle away from them. It is my specialist area of work and I try to reassure my clients that we’ll take everything in hand to get them the best result.
No matter how big the settlement or serious the injury, every case is significant to the individual involved as it has been the cause of some form of suffering or loss when abroad.
By example, I acted for a client who injured her foot on a broken tile situated around a pool in Greece. While the injury was not very significant it did have an impact on her holiday enjoyment as this lady did not have a lot of money and had saved for some time to go on her first holiday in years. She was very pleased with the settlement as it recovered what she had lost and enabled her to go on holiday again.
