Expertise and key strengths
I work in the Travel Litigation Team based in Leeds and represent individual and corporate clients both in the UK and internationally. My key strength is being able to quickly assess often complex situations where foreign laws and regulations have to be considered in order to progress a case.
I studied law at Huddersfield University prior to completing my legal practice course at the College of Law in York. I have previously represented both claimants and defendants which included working in-house for a large tour operator.
Through my previous employments I have a detailed working knowledge of the Package Travel Regulations along with the Montreal and Athens Conventions. My knowledge and expertise in these areas has allowed me to act for claimants and defendants where there has been an accident or illness abroad, on a plane or on a boat.
I joined Hudgell Solicitors in November 2015.
Proudest professional achievement
As with most things in life it is often the most simple of things which make the most impact. I was once previously acting for a client who injured her foot on a broken tile situated around a pool in Greece. While the injury was not very significant the client did not have a lot of money and was very pleased with the settlement. In the words of this particular client “my dreams have come true”.
Excellent service, the Solicitor kept me informed on all progress with regular phone calls and emails.
My case received the best possible outcome. I’d definitely contact Hudgells again if I needed professional advice- Rebecca Shaw.
