A Royal College of Surgeons review of Paediatric Orthopaedic services at Great Ormond Street Hospital has ‘raised concerns’ over the medical practice of surgeon Mr Yaser Jabbar.

Patients treated by Mr Jabbar – who has not worked at the Trust since October 2022 – are now to have their medical records independently reviewed to check that the treatment provided was appropriate.

Solicitor Caroline Murgatroyd, of Hudgell Solicitors, is currently supporting a former patient and investigating treatment provided to them by Mr Jabbar.

In a statement to media, she said:

Whilst this will be worrying for many people, we welcome the review. We also welcome the hospital’s commitment to ensuring the medical records of other patients are now independently reviewed to check the levels of treatment provided.
