The family of a grandmother who slipped and fell at her hotel causing her to break her ankle in three places says the family trip turned “into a nightmare”.
Emilia Fabiszewska, a former schoolteacher, flew to the Greek island of Zante with the holiday firm TUI.
It was meant to be a week’s break to celebrate her retirement, but on the second day she slipped on a wet ramp that had just been mopped after leaving the hotel shop.
In an out of court settlement TUI agreed damages of £12,000 for the holiday hotel accident; no liability was admitted.
Accidents abroad solicitor, Tracy Stansfield said, “In this case we believe checks and policies were not up to scratch and because of the fall our client has had a prolonged period of getting back on her feet.”
