Hudgell Solicitors are delighted to be supporting the 17th annual Leeds Sports Awards in 2020 – an event which recognises and celebrates the achievements of the city and its sporting talent over the past 12 months.

Hudgell Solicitors are delighted to be supporting the 17th annual Leeds Sports Awards in 2020 – an event which recognises and celebrates the achievements of the city and its sporting talent over the past 12 months.

Karen Smith, office manager person injury in Leeds for Hudgell Solicitors, and senior marketing executive Helen Saunders, this week met with award finalists James Simpson and Jodie Boyd-Ward, who each play wheelchair rugby for Leeds Rhinos and England.

They will both be in attendance at the awards night next February as they are shortlisted finalists in the senior sportsman disability and senior sportswoman disability categories respectively.

Ms Saunders says Hudgells, which is the first law firm to sponsor the event, is delighted to be associated with awards which will specifically recognise the achievements of those who have overcome disability to enjoy thriving sporting careers.

She said: “Much of our work as legal specialists at Hudgell Solicitors is focussed on supporting people who find themselves adjusting to life with a disability either after a serious accident or as a victim of medical negligence.

“We are entirely dedicated as a firm to ensuring our expertise helps people make the best possible recovery, and are able to enjoy the most active life possible. Our focus is on helping people toward the best possible life after injury.

“Often a return to sporting activities and enjoyable pastimes is a key goal for our clients, and each and every one of the finalists in these two categories at the Leeds Sports Awards are a true inspiration to anybody with a disability or serious injury who questions what they can achieve.

“The finalists include people who have enjoyed competitive success in cycling, triathlons, wheelchair rugby and at the Paralympics.

“Their stories and achievements are truly remarkable and we can’t want to celebrate their success on the night and crown the worthy winners.”

The awards cover grassroots, professional clubs and athletes, right through to coaches, administrators and volunteers and are also supported by other sponsors including Leeds Business Improvement District, Leeds City College, and Leeds City Council.

Peter Smith, Chair of Sport Leeds said

‘’We are delighted to have Hudgell Solicitors as a key partner for the Leeds Sports Awards 2020. The awards celebrate the success of Leeds based athletes of all abilities along with coaches, administrators and volunteers. We are very grateful for their support as sponsors of our Senior Achievers Disability Awards.’’

The awards will be held at the first direct arena on Thursday 27th February 2020.
