Personal injury team shortlisted for prestigious legal awards on back of five-star reviews and expanded services

Hudgell Solicitors’ dedication and success in supporting people who suffer serious and catastrophic injuries has again won national industry recognition as our personal injury team – and one of our most experienced lawyers – have been named as shortlisted finalists for a prestigious legal awards event.

Hudgell Solicitors’ dedication and success in supporting people who suffer serious and catastrophic injuries has again won national industry recognition as our personal injury team – and one of our most experienced lawyers – have been named as shortlisted finalists for a prestigious legal awards event.

Our Personal Injury team are finalists in the Claimant Team of the Year category of the national 2020 Personal Injury Awards, whilst senior solicitor Kent Pattinson has been shortlisted in the Catastrophic Injury Lawyer of the Year section.

Rachel Di Clemente, chief executive of Hudgell Solicitors, says the team are incredibly proud of these nominations which are testament to their commitment and dedication to all their clients.

And, given it is the third time in four years that Hudgells has been shortlisted for Claimant Team of the Year, she says it demonstrates that the firm’s commitment to client care is consistent with a continued focus on improving clients’ experience year on year.

Finalists in the Claimant Team category were selected on the basis of achieving impressive successes on behalf of claimants, demonstrating effective and innovative management, showing a dedication to development and welfare of staff, providing outstanding client care and for making a contribution to the wider legal community.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted in both individual and team categories at these prestigious awards which are held to celebrate and recognise the excellence of individuals and organisations across the personal injury sector,” said Mrs Di Clemente.

“To be shortlisted as finalists for the third time in four years is humbling and in itself great recognition for the efforts of our dedicated colleagues, reflecting their continued commitment to excellence in client care.

“In 2020 our Personal Injury department has secured more than 120 five-star reviews from clients, with many cases settling with six and seven figure damages values, demonstrating how we have maintained the highest standards of service and results despite all the changes and challenges faced this year.

“We have focused on broadening the support we can provide to our clients both through wider services, such as free initial ‘life after settlement’ financial planning consultations for clients with industry leaders Frenkel Topping, and the offer of independent long-term financial planning support to ensure people best manage their damages settlements, as well as developing our technology to ensure our clients have a greater choice of platforms to interact with us, enabling client care to be unaffected by Covid-19.”

“We’ve also added our own in-house Professional Deputy to provide support in managing the finances of those left without mental capacity to do so themselves, whilst also extending our expertise to support the Polish community.”

Catastrophic injury claims specialist recognised after 30 year career of breaking new ground

With more than 30 years’ experience in supporting people who have suffered the most serious, life-changing injuries, Kent Pattinson’s shortlisting in the Catastrophic Injury Lawyer of the Year category is reward for a career in which he has consistently broken new ground on behalf of those he represents.

Judges were looking for a heightened understanding of, and demonstrable commitment to, the needs of catastrophically injured clients and their families, a proven aptitude for deciding appropriate level of care, equipment, loss of earnings and other client needs, and experience of working with medical experts and understanding and interpreting scientific diagnoses.

Mr Pattinson, who is based in London, is a specialist in catastrophic injuries and high-value claims, reflecting his significant experience and expertise.

His current caseload sees cases being pursued on behalf of many clients who have been left with life-changing injury and paralysis, with estimated damages values in excess of £10million and more.

Amanda Stevens, managing director of London and the south, said: “Kent is richly deserving of this recognition as he has a proven track-record securing ground-breaking multi-million pound settlements on behalf of his clients in the most challenging of cases, developing a well-respected, long standing practice in personal injury.

“He has established a reputation across the industry for his pioneering casework and his career has been littered with significant victories not only for his clients, but of wider industry impact too.

“We know we are very fortunate to have Kent at our firm as he is without doubt one of the very best in the business at what he does, achieving quite remarkable results for some of our most seriously injured clients.

“Ultimately, Kent puts his clients first at all times and will do whatever it takes to get them the best possible result. He is a fantastic role model for other personal injury lawyers to follow.”
