Nominations are now open and offer a great opportunity to acknowledge the dedicated volunteers and community champions in the community game who go above and beyond to serve grassroots rugby league and their communities.

The categories for the Hudgell’s Rugby League Community Awards are;

  • Coach of the Year – A rugby league coach that has fostered participation and enjoyment of the game within their club and wider community.
  • Women In League -An outstanding advocate for the advancement of women in Rugby League.
  • Outstanding Service – An individual that has provided exceptional service to the game and made a measurable difference to the Rugby League Community.
  • Junior Volunteer of the Year– A young person who has made a significant contribution to their community through Rugby League.

Winners, who will also receive £1,000 for their amateur club for sporting equipment and kit, will be announced and presented with their awards at Hull KR’s clash which will be broadcast live on Channel 4, with the Catalans Dragons, at Sewell Group Craven Park on May 21st.

Helen Saunders, Marketing Manager at Hudgell Solicitors, says the awards are the first of a string of community events it is involved in this year as it celebrates 25 years in business.

“As a business which takes great pride in supporting local communities, and has always been committed to supporting local sport, this is an initiative we are delighted to support,” she said.

“Giving back to communities has been part our work at Hudgells for 25 years, and like ourselves, Hull KR is an organisation which is truly embedded at the heart of the local community.

“These awards demonstrate how it continues to recognise the importance of all those who contribute to the grassroots levels of the support.

“We are thrilled to sponsor the awards and help make it possible for people who do so much for their clubs to get the recognition they deserve, and of course secure important funds for their own clubs to ensure as many as possible can enjoy the sport.”

Anyone can submit a nomination by completing via the Hudgell Solicitors website. Nominations will be reviewed by an independent panel with the winners invited to the game to receive their award at half time.

Deadline for submission Monday 16th May 5pm.

Community groups of 25+ are invited to see the game live, with a fantastic £5 ticket deal available and rewards and money can’t buy incentives for groups who come along. Contact [email protected] for more details.
