“Malcolm Johnson, the Head of Hudgells’ child abuse department who was recently listed in the Legal 500, is delighted to be asked to speak at the Kingston Centre for Independent Living Conference taking place on the 15th October 2019 at the Chessington World of Adventures Resort. Malcolm was formerly the Chair of Trustees at KCIL.
Malcolm’s talk will cover :-
- The different types of complaints systems and how to find them, adult social care, the health service, education, housing, the DWP, data protection, lawyers, utilities and children in care
- How to make an effective complaint
- What kind of remedies are available?
KCIL is just one of the charities, whom Malcolm supports. He also advises Coram Voice, a charity which supports children in care and care leavers. He is at present writing a book on Care Leavers’ Rights and he has developed an expertise in complaints systems. He is the creator of a website, https://www.complaintadvocates.co.uk/ which contains summaries of decisions made by the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman. His book, “Complaints for Advocates” published by Pavilion last year will be available for sale at the KCIL Conference at a discounted price of £15.”
