Elder Abuse Compensation Claims
As people approach the later years of their life, they deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Sadly, that’s not always the case – and elder abuse is a growing issue that society must address.
Elder abuse and neglect affects some of the most vulnerable members of our society. Unfortunately, this can have a significant and noticeable impact on their physical and mental health. Sadly, some carers who are meant to be responsible for health and well-being of older people are inflicting abuse – either deliberately or by failing to provide appropriate and necessary levels of care.
Whilst the vast majority of care providers do deliver high levels of service, discovering that a loved one has been abused can be devastating, even more so when their well-being has been entrusted to a health professional.

Making an Elder Abuse Claim
Established in 1997, Hudgell Solicitors have extensive experience in the specialist and sensitive field of elder abuse claims. We realise how traumatic and emotional it can be to report the abuse of an elder person, with the victims and their families often afraid to speak out.
When a care or nursing home is placed under scrutiny, they often appoint an experienced legal team to defend their position and discourage you from pursuing a claim. With our specialist elder abuse lawyers fighting your case, you’ll have access to expert legal guidance every step of the way.
Our highly-trained team of abuse solicitors understand why you may be fearful of making an elder abuse claim, especially against an existing care provider. But we will use our experience to put the best interests of the affected individual first and, if necessary, we can help you to arrange alternative care. We also promise to treat you with respect and compassion throughout the entire process.
We handle every case sensitively and will advise you whether to make a compensation claim on behalf of the abuse sufferer. This could be against either the individual abuser or the organisation responsible for creating the unsafe environment.
After discussing your experience and explaining what has happened to us, you can decide whether to take matters further – but you won’t be under any obligation to do so. If you choose not to take legal action, we will not charge you for our initial advice. If you want to proceed with your case, we can assist you on a ‘No win, no fee’ basis so that you won’t pay a penny, except an agreed percentage of any damages you receive if successful.
If you want to seek redress for the wrong that you or a loved one has suffered, please get in touch to arrange a free confidential consultation or give us a call and speak to a solicitor who specialise in elder abuse compensation claims.

How much will my claim cost?
All abuse cases taken on by Hudgell Solicitors are handled on a no win no fee basis. This means that you will not have to pay any money up front and there will be no financial risk if your case is unsuccessful.
If your case is successful, you will only be expected to pay a contribution to your solicitor’s fees once the case has been resolved. The costs paid are usually a percentage of the compensation awarded and will be agreed before your case is carried out.Find out more

You may have noticed that an elderly relative, friend or neighbour is suffering from bruises, burns, cuts, broken bones or other physical injuries. Other indicators include weight loss, signs of restraint or changes in their ‘normal’ behaviour.
If they’re being looked after by a care provider, you might be concerned about interference from the nursing home or day centre staff. Bed sores, a lack of personal hygiene, mobility aides or emotional support can also be a tell-tale sign of Care Home Abuse.
