Information about how we are protecting our clients and colleagues

Our offices across all locations remain open for vital work only at this moment in time. For clients scheduled to come in to our offices, we have rearranged these meetings and are conducting them by telephone. Any meetings required with new clients will be done by telephone or video calls as requested. This is in line with the Government guidance on social distancing.

We are also following the guidance on the government website regarding changes to cases and the day-to-day court operations. Should your case be impacted by court closures we will let you know as soon as we can.

Connecting with our clients

We have the technology in place to allow regular contact with our clients no matter where they are based.

We are utilising video calls where the client’s preference is face to face contact and a call system, allowing the client to talk to their assigned lawyer at any time. Clients can also expect a call back the very same day.

All our documents come with the option to electronically sign, so clients can return all correspondence from the comfort of their own home. These changes have brought greater efficiencies in process, increased productivity, and speed of response.  Cases are progressing where they can, which our clients are extremely grateful for.

We are working closely with defendants and increased co-operation has ensured cases are not left in abeyance.

Having retained a full complement of staff, we have not faltered on our clients promise and we continue to offer a service which puts our client’s needs over and above anything else.

Colleagues

We are following the government guidance throughout each day and acting upon it as required. This includes asking colleagues with symptoms to self-isolate. The majority of the workforce are now working from home and adapting to a new (remote) way of working quickly.

Our IT team have been working around the clock to provide our colleagues with the technology and training they need to be able to work from home and continue to facilitate this and support our team as much as they can.

Colleagues have been advised to work more flexibly as they adapt to home working and all travel has been stopped.

Due to its highly infectious nature each of our offices are still thoroughly cleaned and this cleaning has been increased in public areas – including door handles, stair rails, lift buttons and general surfaces. This is to ensure that those employees who do have to visit the office can do in safety.

Employment

During this time, employers and employees are facing uncertainty and unsure of their rights. Our employment lawyers continue to monitor the situation and latest government advice. Further information can be found at https://www.acas.org.uk/coronavirus.
