More donations, including £500 from Neil Hudgell Solicitors, are enabling a Hull café to provide free meals on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Barry Kipling, the owner of the Rovers Return in Holderness Road, originally appealed for funding to help him serve meals to people, particularly elderly and homeless people, who cannot afford to make their own Christmas Dinner.
The response to Mr Kipling’s appeal has been overwhelming: he’s already received funding gathered by Karl Turner MP, many local people and donations from supermarkets. With the additional funding from Neil Hudgell Solicitors, he’ll now be able to provide free meals on Boxing Day as well.
Neil Hudgell, Managing Director of Neil Hudgell Solicitors who is also Chairman of Hull Kingston Rovers, read about the appeal in the Hull Daily Mail.
Neil said: “The café is right on our doorstep in East Hull where our firm started out so it’s good to be able to help out.”
