With less than three weeks to go until the VISTA festival it’s all systems go to make sure this community festival is a great success.
With our new office on Princes Avenue opening in 2011 it made sense for us to be the headline sponsor of the event in 2012 to demonstrate our commitment to the local community.
In our fifteenth year, and with the economic downturn and financial pressure that brings not only to individual households, but also to local community groups and charities, it seems to make sense to me to reinvest in our local communities. At times of difficulty and hardship the British people have a great tradition of coming together to support one another and it’s my belief that business has a part to play too, especially in this jubilee year. That was the motivation behind the launch of our charitable trust in April.
After all, our clients have supported us for fifteen years, not only by trusting us to handling their claim and get them the support they need during difficult times, but then also in recommending us to their family, friends and colleagues. That’s how our business has grown from one small office to five offices across England in recent years.
How better to than to say thanks than by supporting a day of celebration in one of those communities. The VISTA festival sees people from across hull and East Yorkshire visit Princes Avenue to enjoy a family day out. The last event in 2010 brought over 10,000 visitors and this year, with a little help from us hopefully it will be even bigger and better. With everything from drum n’ bass to face painting the event offers something for everyone in the community and showcases the talent and creativity of the local community, as well as promoting the local businesses and generating income for the area.
Our staff will be on hand at the event to offer a free ‘Legal Eagle’ advice clinic, in partnership with West Hull Community Radio, another sponsor of the event and a not-for-profit group we also offer support to. And of course I’ve made sure Rufus the Robin and the Robinettes will be on hand at the event to entertain the people of Hull in Hull Kingston Rovers style!
If you know of a local group anywhere in Yorkshire who could benefit from our help visit www.neil-hudgell.co.uk/trust to find out how to apply for funding.
