Community

Charity Partnerships

The Neil Hudgell Trust was established in 2012 to support the local community and voluntary groups and to address social needs across the communities it serves. Having first launched in 2012 to ensure that as a business passionate about the communities it serves, Hudgell Solicitors was able to give something back, we have since been delighted to have donated more than £500,000 to support hundreds of worthy organisations and individuals.

Led by chair Jo Hudgell, the Neil Hudgell Trust – over the years – has supported many inspirational groups of people in the areas in and around our offices in Hull, Leeds, Manchester and London, helping make a real positive difference to so many lives.

From 2012 to 2016, the Neil Hudgell Trust offered small grants, designed to support a wide range of local projects and smaller charities . Over the years  we have developed strong, long-lasting partnerships with many of those we have supported, helping to ensure our work is not just short term, but that real legacies are left.

In 2018, the Neil Hudgell Trust moved from a small grants offering  to medium grants which saw the company partner with three homeless charities and launch our ‘Elephant in the Room’ campaign to confront the social inequality of homelessness. That year, the  Neil Hudgell Trust partnered with the Hull Homeless Community Project, Simon On The Streets in Leeds and the West London Mission by donating an initial £5,000 to each to help with the day to day running of the charities, whilst also pledging to provide ongoing support through further fundraising, marketing support and staff volunteering hours.

In 2019 Hudgell staff chose three children’s charities to benefit from the firm’s community support throughout 2019. Special Stars in Hull, Candlelighters in Leeds and Coram in London have each received an initial £5,000 donation from the firm and staff have been busy within the workplace and externally, fundraising and volunteering hours.

Our Charity Partners

PAUL for Brain Injury

We are delighted to announce that Paul continues to be an ambassador for the fifth year running following the ongoing successful relationship we have formed with him over the years. Paul is not only an ambassador but a true friend and inspiration to us all at Hudgells and we are looking forward to many more years of partnership.

We are pleased to announce our commitment to support client and Manchester Bombing survivor Martin Hibbert, as he embarks on the challenge of a lifetime in climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. We have pledged to help Martin reach his £1m fundraising target with a series of events that will be held before the climb in September 2021.

We are proud to be working with the charity and helping to launch it’s Support and Connect Hub initiative and build awareness throughout the City over the coming months as the project develops. We support the Limbless Association through an annual donation to assist with the day to day running of the charity as well as being a legal panel member.

2019 Partnership

Candlelighters

We were thrilled to work with children’s cancer charity Candleighters. As well as a one off donation, our teams contributed to a number of fundraising initiatives that were run throughout the year where they were our Leeds based charity of choice. A highlight was being able to donate additional funds to them so they could finally create their furry mascot who visits the ward to help put a smile on the children’s faces!

2018 Partnership

Elephant in the Room

In 2018 we linked up with groups in Hull, London and Leeds working to support homeless and marginalised people through providing practical and emotional help, as well as seeking to educate the public concerning the problems of social isolation and homelessness. Our ‘Elephant in the Room’ campaign was launched in to confront the social inequality of homelessness.
