About the Role

The role

We are looking to recruit a Solicitor / Legal Executive / Litigation Executive (with at least 5 years’ experience) to join our Travel Team in Manchester to manage a caseload of claims arising out of personal injuries abroad. You will be working as part of a friendly and ambitious team where everyone works closely to deliver the best result for our clients.  The successful candidate will be an experienced fee earner with the ability to handle their own caseload and show commercial awareness.

What you will be doing

  • Running a caseload of pre-litigation and litigated accidents and illness abroad cases.
  • Ensuring that cases are progressed effectively, meeting defined deadlines, and complying with precedents and documents in our case management system.
  • Providing a high level of client care, respect and integrity in the management and progression of client’s cases
  • Managing all aspects of cases including time recording, billing and debtor management in order to achieve personal fee and chargeable time targets

What you will need

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience of handling pre and post litigation personal injury claims. Experience of accident abroad cases is desirable but not essential.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision and ensure accurate time recording.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated by an ability to communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent time management skills demonstrated by ability to organise and prioritise a complex workload and work to tight deadlines.
  • Be able to contribute to team business development and marketing activities.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment.
  • Solid experience in using a variety of IT packages.
  • Experience in handling intermediate or higher value claims desirable but not essential to role.
