Build Your Career

Hudgell Solicitors is one of the country’s most progressive and experienced law firms. We are experts in client care and the reviews we receive are testament to the work our lawyers do.

It is an exciting time to join the company, for the second year in a row we are ranked in The Times 200 Top Law Firms, our ethos is ‘Righting Wrongs’ and we are consistently recognised for the work we do and the landmark victories we have achieved.

We are proud to lead on many cases of national significance, standing side by side with our clients to challenge injustice. One of our recent major achievements was clearing the names of dozens of former sub postmasters who were victims of the Post Office-Horizon scandal.

Our lawyers have been hailed for the quality of their work in civil liberties and human rights cases in the 2022 Legal 500 guide and our Executive Chairman Neil Hudgell was named Legal Personality of the Year at the 2021 Law Society Excellence Awards.

You will join a team that has represented the families of all four victims of the serial killer Stephen Port at their inquests and who also represent families of victims of the Manchester Arena terrorist attack.

Our lawyers are also leaders in our traditional areas of medical negligence and personal injury claims. Our heads of departments Chris Moore, Vince Shore and Jane Woodcock have all been recognised for their experience and expertise. Chris Moore recently won a landmark case when he secured up to £20m in damages for a mother and her son born with cerebral palsy.

At Hudgell Solicitors we put people and service at the heart of everything we do – investing in each other to enable and empower our colleagues. We support our staff development at every stage of their careers through both our Early Careers programme and our structured quarterly reviews.

Our investment in people means we are committed to providing an exceptional working environment and have harnessed a culture that allows people to demonstrate leadership and innovation.

With offices in Hull and Manchester we are a growing firm whose agile and adaptable approach promises an exciting career. If you are up for the challenge of working for one of the UK’s award-winning and most innovative legal businesses, we would love to hear from you.

Staff who work at Hudgells at all levels talk of the “great people you get to work with” and their enjoyment working for a “business that always evolves and changes”, where there are “always fresh challenges”, and where “everyone is super friendly and make new starters feel welcomed and part of the Hudgells family from the minute you walk through the door”.

Stacey Cave, Litigation Executive in the Travel team in the Manchester office, said: “Hudgells offers an inspiring work environment in which I can contribute to providing justice for those who have suffered through no fault of their own. Each day is fulfilling, and I enjoy having such close contact with clients and colleagues.”
