Everyone knows that a nasty knock to the head in an accident can lead to a severe injury, with a lifetime of potential consequences. There are facts and figures released every year by charities and health groups who wish to highlight the rising number of injuries to the head and brain, but are you really aware of the serious damage it can do?

As part of our ongoing research here at Neil Hudgell Solicitors, our head and brain injury solicitors have collected key figures and research to outline the facts in a helpful, easy-to-read infographic.

The visual graphic intends to promote the common dangers over a million people in the UK could face after attending hospital A&E following a head injury, with a further 135,000 admitted for a brain injury.

We also wanted to highlight the common symptoms of brain injuries, from the cognitive effects, to the physical and emotional reactions many victims are left to cope with after an accident. Shockingly, 500,000 people aged between 16-24 now live with long term disabilities as result of traumatic brain injury.

Our research also led us to alarming findings for head injuries and children, with 40-50% of the 85% of minor brain injuries are suffered by a child, this equates to one child every half an hour in the UK suffering from an injury to the head.

To prevent this we have also included four helpful ways you can reduce the risks of injury.
