NEIL Hudgell Solicitors is delighted to have been shortlisted for a prestigious award in recognition of our contribution to supporting local communities.
We are one of three shortlisted finalists in the Business in the Community category in the Pride of East Yorkshire Awards.
Organised by the Hull Daily Mail, the awards honour and celebrate East Yorkshire’s unsung heroes.
The Business in the Community award recognises those which make a huge contribution to their community, either by donating money and time, or supporting local causes.
We have been nominated and shortlisted for our work through the Neil Hudgell Solicitors Trust, which has supported more than 100 community groups and good causes across the region over the past two years.
Recently we marked our second anniversary by increasing our annual fund to £100,000 from £60,000, making up to £2,500 available to individual groups.
Susan Hogan, marketing manager at Neil Hudgell Solicitors, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for this award. The Trust has made such a positive difference to many local groups and causes since it began.
“The Trust has never been about gaining recognition, but about giving something back to the community. Having said that though, to receive this recognition through not only being nominated, but also shortlisted as finalists in the Pride of East Yorkshire Awards, is a huge honour and we are all very proud.”
There are seven individual categories in the awards, from which one winner will be crowned with the overall Pride of East Yorkshire award at the ceremony, which is being held at the KC Stadium on September 3.
Those who attend will enjoy a three-course meal and videos of the nominees will be shown on the night.
Danielle Roe, regional events manager for the Hull Daily Mail, said: “It’s not until you plan something like the Pride of East Yorkshire awards you realise how much people do and how much they are not recognised.
“It’s been a really tough decision for the judges and they found it hard just to shortlist the final three in each category.
“It’s always a really popular evening and we are really looking forward to it.”
