Hudgell Solicitors have been shortlisted in the Leeds and Yorkshire Lawyer Awards 2012.
The firm, which specialises in claims for personal injury and medical negligence, could be in line for an honour in the Enterprise category as a result of its work with clients and the community in which its offices are based.
Earlier this year, to mark its 15th anniversary in business, Neil Hudgell Solicitors which has offices in Hull, Leeds and Solihull, established The Neil Hudgell Solicitors Trust.
Every three months until 2014, the Trust will award up to £15,000 – made up of 15 grants, each worth up to £1,000. In total, the Trust will give out funding of up to £60,000 a year.
The aim of the Neil Hudgell Solicitors Trust is to encourage grassroots activities which support local communities and promote sport, health, wellbeing and educational aspiration.
Earlier this month, the first successful beneficiaries have been announced – 13 organisations in Yorkshire have received grants totalling more than £11,000.
Neil Hudgell, Managing Director of Neil Hudgell Solicitors, said: “We are very pleased to have been nominated for this award.
“Hopefully, this recognition by Leeds and Yorkshire Lawyer of The Trust and its aims will raise awareness of The Trust and encourage more applications from organisations which have a direct benefit for their local community.”
