Hudgell Solicitors is delighted to have been shortlisted in two categories for the 2015 Yorkshire Legal Awards – a prestigious event which recognises the very best legal talent across the region.
Organisers have today confirmed that we are shortlisted finalists in the Law Firm (1-10 partners) category, whilst Neil Hudgell has also been shortlisted for the Managing Partner of the Year award.
Launched in 2000 to recognise outstanding legal talent across the region, the awards are a key date on the calendar, offering professionals the chance to network, socialise and celebrate success.
Categories of awards cover everything from the biggest corporate firms to leading barristers, and senior partners to rising stars.
The winners will be announced in October at a glittering black-tie affair, at New Dock Hall, Leeds, set in a stunning £350 million waterfront development in the heart the city.
The short-listings come on the back of a period of success and rapid growth for Hudgell Solicitors, and follow a recent rebrand of the business to reflect the firm’s increasing national profile, and its focus on supporting people who suffer life-changing injuries.
Those shortlisted in the ‘Law Firm’ category are said to be ‘flying the flag for Yorkshire and making a notable impact in regional, national and international markets.’
Judges were looking for firms which have made a positive contribution to the legal community, are appreciated by clients, and have initiatives which set them apart from the competition.
In the Managing Partner category, judges looked for individuals who had demonstrated strong leadership and management skills, a dedication to clients, and could evidence their contribution to the success of their firms over the past 12 months.
“To be shortlisted for an awards event which recognises the very best legal talent across the whole of Yorkshire, in all areas of the legal profession, is testament to the expertise we have at the firm and the quality of service we provide to our clients,” said Neil Hudgell.
“We have placed a clear focus on expanding the business to become recognised not only regionally, but as a national leader in personal injury and medical negligence work, supporting those who have suffered life-changing injuries.
“To be held up as an example of best practice to others in our industry across Yorkshire, where there are so many great legal firms, is a great honour, and something all of our team can be very proud of.”
In announcing the shortlists, a spokesman for the Yorkshire Legal Awards said: “Being shortlisted as a finalist is a real accolade as the number of entries this year has been the highest ever, with the sifting panel only putting forward those entries they considered to be potential winners.”
It is the latest recognition Hudgell Solicitors at major industry awards events.
The medical negligence team was highly commended in the recent Modern Claims Awards, whilst Legal Executive Jane Woodcock was a finalist in the in the ‘Outstanding Case of the Year’ award in the 2014 Personal Injury Awards.
Locally, the Neil Hudgell Trust, which provides financial grants of up to £2,500 to support small groups and projects having a positive impact within their community, was named the winner of the ‘Community Spirit’ Award, at the Hull Improvement District (BID) Awards.
The Yorkshire Legal Awards are held and staged by the publishers of Leeds & Yorkshire Lawyer magazine to bring together this region’s legal community to recognise and celebrate its myriad achievements.
They have been judged by a prestigious panel from the Yorkshire legal community.
