Hudgell Solicitors will be recognised for its success and expansion over the past 12 months when it is a finalist in two categories at the Yorkshire Legal Awards this week.
The event, launched in 2000 to recognise outstanding legal talent across the region, is being held at the New Dock Hall in Leeds on Thursday, October 22, and sees Hudgell Solicitors in contention to be named ‘Law Firm of the Year’.
Judges selected finalists which were said to be ‘flying the flag for Yorkshire and making a notable impact in regional, national and international markets.’
It comes after a milestone 12-month period for Hudgell Solicitors saw further expansion of the business through acquisition, and a major rebrand to reflect the company’s move from a regional personal injury and medical negligence specialist.
That transition, which has included a focussed marketing campaign to build a stronger national profile around the firm’s work in supporting those who suffer life-changing injuries or illnesses, has been led by managing director Neil Hudgell, who is also shortlisted in the Managing Partner category.
In this award category, judges looked for individuals who had demonstrated strong leadership and management skills, a dedication to clients, and evidence of a clear contribution to the success of their firm over the past 12 months.
The Yorkshire Legal Awards received the highest number of entries this year since their launch in 2000, and Mr Hudgell said it will be a night to celebrate the achievements of the firm over the past year.
“It has been a significant 12 months for the business, one in which we have enjoyed success in terms of both expanding the business, and increasing our national profile,” said Mr Hudgell.
“We continue to develop our teams of specialist solicitors, and have plans for further expansion in key markets, particularly London.
“Obviously we are hopeful of leaving the night with a couple of awards in our hands, but to be shortlisted in two categories in an event recognising the very best legal talent across the whole of Yorkshire is a great achievement in itself, and one of which we are proud.
“It is yet further evidence of how we provide a service which is appreciated by the people who matter most, and that’s the thousands of people we represent.”
The Yorkshire Legal Awards are held and staged by the publishers of Leeds & Yorkshire Lawyer magazine to bring together this region’s legal community to recognise and celebrate its myriad achievements.
They have been judged by a prestigious panel from the Yorkshire legal community.
