Hudgell Solicitors is delighted to again be supporting the Hull Daily Mail’s Sporting Champions Awards in 2015, an event which recognises the best amateur and professional sporting talent across the region.
Now in their fourth year, the Mail is currently seeking nominations in 15 categories for the glittering awards night, which will be held at the KC Stadium later this year.
Once again, Hudgell Solicitors is proud to be sponsoring the award for Junior Boy of the Year (aged 16-18), which will recognise someone who has achieved excellence in their chosen sport, either as an individual or part of a team.
The company is also sponsoring the Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be given to someone the judges feel has dedicated their life to sport and made a big difference in the sporting community.
Neil Hodgkinson, editor of the newspaper, has encouraged the community to get involved for what he says is his favourite night of the year.
He said: “There are many true heroes and champions of sport who deserve recognition for their achievements and dedication, and hopefully these awards will identify the most deserving.”
The sponsorship of the awards is just one element of Hudgell Solicitors’ ongoing commitment to supporting local sporting teams and individuals.
Through the Neil Hudgell Trust, many talented young sports people have been helped with funding towards achieving their sporting ambitions, whilst the company has also sponsored the Hull and East Riding Disability Sports Awards, and this year backed boxer Tommy Coyle in making his two city academies free to under-17s.
Simon Wilson, of Hudgell Solicitors, said: “We’re delighted to again be backing the Hull Daily Mail’s Sporting Champions Awards and look forward to hearing about the many great sporting achievements of young people across the city. We are sure the Junior Boy category will be hotly contested.
“The Neil Hudgell Trust has supported many inspirational young sports stars over the past couple of years, who have gone on to represent their country as a result.
“The Lifetime Achievement Award is also a major accolade for us to back.
“We know there is a wealth of sporting talent locally, and would like to encourage people to nominate for these awards and ensure the many talented people across the region get the recognition these awards provide.”
