Today, we are an award-winning, recognised leader in the legal fields we specialise in, supporting people across England and Wales in cases relating to medical negligence, personal injury, criminal injuries, injuries abroad, military injuries, actions against the police and at public inquiries and inquests.
We are recognised as a Leading Firm by the Legal 500 Guide, and listed as one of the ‘Best 200 Law Firms in the UK’ by The Times newspaper.

Our vision
Justice for all; where the vulnerable stand tall.
It is our firm belief that justice – and the very best legal representation – should not just be available to those who can afford it – but to all who need it.
It is for that reason that our expert legal teams take on difficult and challenging cases – under no win no fee agreements – which many other firms would reject.
Whether that be difficult to prove medical negligence cases or helping people challenge the actions of state bodies such as the police, our team will always do their best to achieve our vision of enabling justice for all.
Our purpose and mission
#Righting Wrongs - To fight for our clients. To stand up for the vulnerable. To give a voice to those seeking justice
In the majority of cases, our clients turn to us not only seeking compensation, but importantly to challenge injustice, to hold people to account for their actions, to find the answers to their questions and to ensure changes are made for the future.
People turn to us to fight for them – and that is what we do best. Our legal work and expertise often leads to major investigations and inquiries which uncover failings and mistakes, and ensures lessons are learned for the future.
Most of all, our work ensures the people we represent cannot be ignored or their concerns easily dismissed. We won’t allow that to happen and take great pride in giving a voice to the people we represent.

We are employee owned
Hudgell Solicitors is proud to be employee owned, with our team collectively having the majority stake in our business, held on trust, enabling them to be involved in decision-making, strategy and business direction, as well as benefitting from profits.
Established by the Government in 2014, Employee Ownership Trusts (EOT) allow company founders to protect their business legacy and maintain the ethos of the business and their way of running things.
Founder Neil Hudgell took the decision to transfer the majority of his shares into the EOT in December 2023, saying he felt it was the time to ‘put a bit back and invest in the people who’d helped to make the business a success’ since established in 1997.
